New speculative warehouse HQ celebrated with official launch - Milton Keynes

24th September 2019

Local dignitaries and key industrial agents from the region have attended the official launch of Velocity - a newly constructed 48,000 sq ft (4,459 sq m) warehouse headquarters scheme in Milton Keynes.

The new development - by commercial developer Hampton Brook - comprises two high specification units, located on corner of Kelvin Drive and Roebuck Way in Knowlhill. A pre-let of the first phase of the scheme last year, comprising some 25,500 sq ft (2,370 sq m), sparked the speculative development of this second phase - the only new development of a warehouse facility of its size in the Milton Keynes area.

This high specification unit, constructed to a sustainable and energy efficient design, comprises 22,710 sq ft (2,090 sq m) of detached industrial/warehouse space within a 1.43 acre self-contained and secure site. It further benefits from an 8m eaves height, two level access loading doors and fitted air-conditioned offices.

Unit 2, Velocity was officially launched at an on-site event attended by over 30 property professionals from the region's industrial market and the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Sam Cook

Welcoming guests to the launch, Ian Jackson, Director of Hampton Brook said: "We were thrilled to see so many property agents at our event and to have the support of Milton Keynes Council."

"Both buildings look fantastic and potential occupiers for the remaining speculative unit can now see the quality of the scheme and appreciate the high specification of the built accommodation. We are pleased with the initial Interest in the property's availability and the number of enquiries received to date for the potential purchase or letting of the accommodation."

Construction of Velocity began in September last year following the purchase by Hampton Brook of the prominent three acre site from Milton Keynes Development Partnership. A pre-let to broadbandbuyer.com was simultaneously agreed with the facility providing the company with a new UK Headquarters to house its expanding operations; ultimately replacing the company's existing premises at Linford Wood and at the same time creating efficiencies in its working practices that will allow the company to grow its operations in Milton Keynes.

Echoing Ian's sentiments, the Mayor of MK, Cllr Sam Cook, said: "High quality developments such as Velocity form an important part of the Milton Keynes offer and help to showcase the city as a great place to do business and indeed generate new jobs. I welcome this latest investment and look forward to formally welcoming broadbandbuyer into their new premises shortly."
